Since November 2020, and for an initial agreement lasting until August 2023, the premises of the former Charial Hospital have been made available to the Salvation Army Foundation and the Foyer Notre Dame des Sans-Abri in partnership with Plateau Urbain and with the support of the Rhône Prefecture. Mixed in nature, the third place combines several uses: Accommodation for 475 people, including 180 children, in five accommodation centers

  • Offering services tailored to the needs of the area: healthcare accessible to all, a toy library, a restaurant, and a program of cultural, sporting, and educational activities
  • Providing spaces for artist residencies or seminars;
  • Developing eco-responsible and socially responsible hotel services with the Le Grand Barnum hotel and providing training in the hotel industry.
