Committed to transitional urban planning, Plateau Urbain is a cooperative society of collective interest (SCIC). This legal form allows different individuals and legal entities, both private and public, to join forces around a common project that combines local development and social utility with the economic efficiency of a business.
Each cooperative member is informed of the cooperative's economic situation and strategic directions, has the right to vote at the General Meeting, and may be elected to serve on the Supervisory Board.
Through their contributions, the cooperative members collectively hold the social capital of the company. Plateau Urbain cannot be purchased without their consent. Each new share subscribed by a member strengthens the cooperative's financial base over time. Thanks to this financial support, the SCIC has the means to continue developing third places that are as diverse as possible, serving the local area.

Bringing together people in extremely precarious situations, cultural, artistic, and social organizations, as well as the general public, in one place, as we did at Les Grands Voisins, Les Cinq Toits, Maison Marceau, and La PADAF show that not only is it possible, but it also makes sense to replicate these models, not identically, because each project is unique, but by recreating the conditions conducive to diversity, solidarity, and experimentation. Numerous initiatives, such as the solidarity concierge service and the barter shop, have been set up and are helping people to achieve a certain degree of autonomy thanks to the economic activity created on site.
