A cooperative supported by its members

The Plateau Urbain cooperative brings together members of different backgrounds, grouped into five categories: employees, occupants, experts, partners, and financial supporters. These cooperative members are involved in the governance of the cooperative and collectively hold its share capital. The people who are part of the Plateau Urbain cooperative are referred to interchangeably as members, associates, or cooperators.

What is a cooperative?

Committed to transitional urban planning, Plateau Urbain is a cooperative society of collective interest (SCIC). This legal form allows different individuals and legal entities, both private and public, to join forces around a common project that combines local development and social utility with the economic efficiency of a business.

Why become a member of Plateau Urbain?

Support the cooperative's political project

By experimenting with new models and creating communities, Plateau Urbain works to reduce vacancy rates and promote creativity for the common good. Each member can choose to get involved in the SCIC project according to their means and availability.

Participate in shared governance

Each cooperative member is informed of the cooperative's economic situation and strategic directions, has the right to vote at the General Meeting, and may be elected to serve on the Supervisory Board.

Strengthen social capital

Through their contributions, the cooperative members collectively hold the social capital of the company. Plateau Urbain cannot be purchased without their consent. Each new share subscribed by a member strengthens the cooperative's financial base over time. Thanks to this financial support, the SCIC has the means to continue developing third places that are as diverse as possible, serving the local area.
